A new Ben Simmons Tweet has Lakers fans all riled up

Ben Simmons has become somewhat of a tease on social media, constantly filling Lakers fans with the hope that their heir to the throne has arrived in a 6’10, 240 pound package.

From Snapchats of him saying “You can catch me on the Lakers next year,” to epic photos of him rocking a Magic Johnson jersey in front of a roaring LSU stadium, Simmons has shown he’s ready for his acting debut in Hollywood.

Thursday night, was nothing like the previously mentioned occurrences, but it still had fans rolling, racking up close to 1500 mentions in two hours.

D’Angelo Russell and Ben Simmons played together in high school so it’s no surprise that they’d try to catch up when Russell was in town. It’ll be interesting to see whether that’s at the actually game, or later on.

Simmons has played for the Purple and Gold nearly his entire basketball tenure, so how fitting would it be for him to come to the Lakers next season.

Sure, the Lakers have no control over the way the ping pong balls will bounce come May, but Tweets like these give fans just a little bit of hope that, in spite of the ever growing pile of losses, help could be just around the river bend.
