Lakers star, Kobe Bryant, will be appearing in more home games with the end of the season rapidly approaching

Despite having season ending injuries in the past three years, it is surprising that Lakers guard, Kobe Bryant, has been able to stay relatively healthy in his final campaign.

One of the main reasons he’s been able to do so is the fact that he has sat out 12 of the Lakers 62 games for rest purposes. With that in mind, it is interesting to ponder whether his last few years would have been different if he’d simply have managed his minutes better throughout his career, but that’s besides the point.

Since the All-Star break, Kobe has played sparingly at STAPLES Center, focusing more on treating fans on the road to one last show. However, with only 20 games left in the Black Mamba’s career he revealed that he’s going to try and finish out the year strong, playing as many home games as he can.

This is great news for Lakers fans everywhere, especially those who have paid outrageous prices for tickets without guarantee of Kobe even playing.

Per RealGM,

"“At Staples, here, I’m going to have to start ramping it up and get out there and playing,” Bryant said on Time Warner Cable SportsNet, “because it’s almost a wrap. But at the same time, I don’t want to do something towards the end and have the shoulder pop out again and I’m on the surgery table again or something like that. We don’t want that. I just need to be smart, and appreciate the time I have left.”"

The Black Mamba only played 10 minutes against the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night, so it seems that he could be sacrificing road minutes for minutes in front of the Lakers’ faithful.

Kobe has played through injuries almost his entire career driven by the ultimate goal of winning a championship so it’s interesting to see his genuine show of appreciation to the fans considering the fact that his championship aspirations are done.

As a die hard Laker fan, it is going to be a strange day watching a Kobe-less LA lineup, but all good things must come to an end.
