A comparison of Julius Randle’s past two seasons for the Lakers, looking at where he has improved and what elements of his game still need work.

After an injury in the first game of his official rookie year in 2014, It took Julius Randle until the following 2015-2016 season to truly show fans what he is capable of, averaging 11.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists while shooting just under 43 percent from the field.

This past season Randle tallied 13.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 48.8 percent from the field.

While these numbers offer a general sense of the progress Randle has made thus far in his two seasons in the NBA, it is important to break down multiple areas of his game in order to gain a better understanding of where he has improved and which areas of his game require the most work this offseason.

As the Lakers continue to rebuild, Randle certainly plays a big part in that. As a former Top-10 pick, the Lakers are hoping that Randle will be a big part of their rotation for years to come. So far, Randle has shown signs of that.

After two seasons, we certainly have a better feel of what type of players Randle is. Let’s take a look at how Randle has either improved or regressed in certain areas of the game.
