Let’s not forget, how much additional pressure, Los Angeles Lakers President of Basketball Operations, Magic Johnson placed on Lonzo Ball as well. Johnson stated this during Ball’s introductory press conference:

"“We expect a Ball jersey hanging up there one day.”“He has greatness written all over him, Now he just has to go out and push him, and we will, too. And [Lakers coach] Luke [Walton] and the coaching staff will do the same thing and it’s OK, because he receives all that well.”"

Bold words coming from the likes of Magic Johnson, Laker legend and all-time great. With that being said, those words are a true testament of how special Lonzo Ball could potentially turn out to be.

Nonetheless, do not expect Ball to score large numbers right off the bat, though it’s very possible. Expect his athleticism and IQ to be on full display. Ball’s debut will come against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. After that, the Lakers will have a quick turnaround when they play the Boston Celtics on Saturday evening.
