There is a reason why the Los Angeles Lakers are the (purple and) gold standard of all organizations in sports. On Sunday night, the Lakers proved again why they’re Kareem Abdul-Jabbar standing on Andrew Bynum’s shoulders above the rest.
Before the Rockets and Lakers tipped off at Staples Center, former Laker Trevor Ariza was presented with his championship ring from last season.
In addition to the video tribute that played on the scoreboard, Kobe Bryant and Derek Fisher greeted Ariza and his son with the ring in hand.
Given the off-season contract drama and the unavoidable storylines between Ron Artest and Ariza switching places, this just shows the respect the front office and the Laker fans have for the L.A. native.
Congrats, Trevor!
Now, get out of the way so we can get our second win over your Rockets this year!
