Steve Blake Expected to Play in Game 2

It’s doubtful that having a healthy Steve Blake would have made much difference defending Chris Paul in Game 1. With the way CP3 was rolling you could have had six Lakers on the court and it wouldn’t have made a difference.

Fact of the matter is defending Paul has got to be a team effort. But having more hands on deck is a good thing and it looks likely that Blake will be back.

The mysterious case of Blake’s adult chickenpox remains one of the strangest occurrences in Laker Land this year. Now that’s saying something when you consider Ron Artest is on the roster and Lamar Odom has a reality show.

No word on how much PT Blake will see. If I’m being honest, seeing Blake instead of D-League addition Trey Johnson doesn’t give me much confidence. When he was healthy Blake never looked comfortable on the court. He’s really struggled to find his rhythm this season. Therefore a pox-free Blake isn’t a huge sigh of relief.

All that being said, you get the feeling this guy is due for a big moment so why no now?
