The Spanish National team is finally getting into gear in the EuroBasket tournament. With a birth in the 2012 Olympics clearly insight the Spaniards rolled through Slovenia with a convincing 86-64 victory. Don’t let the final score or Pau Gasol’s 19 points and 16 boards fool you though. It took a dominant third quarter led by Juan Carlos Navarro for Spain to put Slovenia in the rearview.
Navarro dropped 26 with 17 coming in the third frame.
As for Pau, his 19 points came on a miserable 6 of 17 shooting night. That’s precisely why you won’t see much more of Pau than a Rudy Fernandez put back on a Gasol miss in the highlights below.
Still, a win is a win. With the demolition of Slovenia, Spain is into the semis and one step closer to being crowed the kings of European hoops.
