Kobe Keeps Door Open for Overseas Options

Nothing has changed with the NBA lockout. No movement in labor negotiations means no chance of a season as of now. No real surprise Kobe Bryant is still considering playing overseas next season. Bryant may have never truly considered Turkish club Besiktas but he did let it be known playing outside of the States is always an option.

Continuing his basketball ambassadorship, Mamba was in Singapore for a youth b-ball clinic when he told the AP how the lockout is keeping the overseas window open. At least that’s what he slyly addressed when asked if playing abroad is still on the table.

"“I could. I’m playing abroad right now.”"

Not exactly breaking news. Nor is there much more to discuss until Kobe enters serious talks with a team.

The lingering lockout looks certain to threaten the start of the season. How much more is lost to remains to be seen. This nothing of a comment by Kobe is news because nothing else is. Otherwise it’s business as usual in the limbo state of pro hoops in this country.
