Here we go again…
When the NBA lockout was still an infant Deron Williams made headlines for being the first NBA star to abandon ship. Williams inked a lucrative deal with Turkish club Besiktas. Currently D-Will is collecting a check while hooping in Istanbul.
Not too long after Williams made the Euro plunge, Kobe Bryant became the newest fascination for Besiktas. As you’ll recall there was plenty of sizzle but no steak in the Bryant talks. Each week there was a new rumor/report about Bryant being in talks with the Turks only to have those same rumors refuted by Bryant.
Of course that has pretty much been the case with Kobe and all his lockout dealings with other clubs.
Unable to secure Bryant, Besiktas is now turning to Kobe’s partner in crime as reports are circulating claiming that Lamar Odom is mulling over an offer to join Williams in Turkey.
You would assume the offer includes an opt-out clause but at this point that is pretty much pointless. Apparently Odom impressed plenty of Turkish hoop heads with his play in the FIBA world championships last year which were held in…you guessed it…Turkey.
No word on whether or not Odom would be going to Turkey sans Kardashian leech…err…wife. However the rumors claim Odom is listening to the offer and is intrigued. Plus, it would be nice for LO to recoup some of his losses from the Power Balance debacle.
