It looks like Mike Brown will get himself a knockdown shooter this season. That is, unless, Jason Kapono’s jumper goes the way of Steve Blake’s confidence in Los Angeles.
Kapono, a SoCal native and UCLA alum, is expected to ink a one year deal for the veteran’s minimum on Friday when the business of NBA basketball officially resumes.
Naturally Kapono and his career 43% three-point percentage will be expected to extend opposing defenses. What is uncertain is how much run he’ll get in Coach Brown’s rotation. Kapono’s defense has more holes than a corkboard in a Fry’s Electronics break room. Kapono has the size of a three man but plays more like a two even though he has no handle. He’ll be stuck in the mix with Matt Barnes, Luke Walton and Devin Ebanks to get PT behind Metta World Peace.
