Yesterday the Lakers made roster cuts to get down to 15 players. Among those still on the roster are rookie guards Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock.
Both men got their chance to shine in the preseason with Morris impressing in the first game and Goudelock doing some things well in the second. Of the two Morris looks like he’ll have a better chance at seeing time on the court this year.
Morris has ideal size, speed and displayed extreme confidence in his preseason outing. While Goudelock is clearly the better shooter he is undersized for an NBA two which means he’ll have to play point. Morris is a natural point guard that has combo guard skills and can easily play either spot for Mike Brown.
With injury concerns already mounting for the Lake Show don’t be surprised if either rookie sees extended time sooner than later. Don’t be too surprised if either or both are playing in the D-League in the near future as well.
