Lakers Expect Steve Blake Back In Boston

It’s not the kind of improved depth that will drastically change the tide for the Lakers but getting Steve Blake back is very welcomed. Blake was a full participant in practice on Wednesday raising the likelihood that he’ll be able to play tonight in Boston.

Having missed the last 13 games with a rib injury, Blake will be wearing a protective vest to prevent further damage. The biggest question will be his conditioning. Of course that is an issue every player has dealt with this year due to the lockout.

For Blake the real question is whether or not he’ll be able to pickup where he left off. Before the injury Blake was the best bet off the bench which was in stark contrast to how he performed last season. In his absence rookie Andrew Goudelock has impressed but is still an NBA newbie learning on the job.

Mike Brown has said he’d like to use both Blake and G-Lock in the backcourt together with Blake guarding opposing two-guards on defense.
