For the Lakers there was absolutely nothing positive that occurred in last night’s sickening meltdown against the lowly Washington Wizards. However, at least one member of the squad was spared the embarrassment of being a part of one of the worst regular season losses in franchise history.
Rookie Darius Morris was shipped off to the D-League yesterday so he can get some valuable court time which otherwise wouldn’t happen being on the Lakers roster.
Recently Devin Ebanks made the same move to join the D-Fenders for a few games. Now it’s Morris’ turn. The rookie hasn’t had many opportunities to contribute. His most memorable moments occurred in the first preseason contest against the Clippers. Still Mike Brown continues to sing his praises and feels Morris has a real future in the NBA.
At least the L.A. native’s name won’t appear anywhere near the record for what happened in the Nation’s capital last night. That’s got to help soften the blow of being demoted.
