Continuing to add to their collection of past-their-prime players the Lakers are reported to be on the verge of inking veteran forward Antawn Jamison. At the ripe age of 36 Jamison fits in with the aging group of veteran players that are flocking to the Lake Show these days.
Once upon a time Jamison was a 20 and 10 guy that actually dropped 50 in consecutive games. These days he’s coming off of the worst shooting season of his career having dropped 17 a night in Cleveland on 40% shooting.
The move helps the Lakers gain depth and some size while adding a more reliable scorer off the bench but it doesn’t do much for addressing the team’s perimeter shooting woes or the necessity to start building for the future.
