2012-13 NBA Schedule: Lake Show Debuts In Primetime

You can set your watch to the Los Angeles Lakers featuring in primetime anytime the NBA season is underway. No

surprise that the Steve Nash era in L.A. begins with some extra drama too.

Call it the Has-Been Bowl as the Lakers and Mavericks meet up on opening night for the 2012-13 NBA Season.  These two teams are the last two Western Conference champions to be crowned NBA champions. And there is plenty of bad blood still boiling (Ah hem…Bynum elbow; Mavs sweep Lakers).

Adding to the nostalgic feel for the season opener, Nash will be facing off against his former club as too will Antawn Jamison. Once upon a time the two newest Lakers were cashing Mark Cuban-endorsed checks. No love lost anywhere in this one at all.

Plus you know Kobe Bryant would like nothing more than set the tone for what could be his last and best chance to equalize Jordan in jewelry count.

The drama is thick and we’re not even at training camp yet. David Stern would have it no other way…unless he ups the ante and forces Dwight Howard to head west. That might help to atone for Stern’s sins committed against hoops last offseason. That would also really take this season to Stallone arm wrestling levels – over the top.
