Jordan Hill’s legal woes are far from over. The Lakers’ backup big man might still have to stand trial for an assault charge that occurred just prior to the then controversial trade that shipped off Laker legend Derek Fisher to Houston.
However according to Hill’s attorney his client won’t have to stand trial during the upcoming season.
That’s good news for the Lakers as they did take a risk inking the Arizona alum. Even better news would be for Hill’s case to be resolved before it even gets to trial.
Again, Hill’s representation is confident that a resolution will be reached in the coming weeks. Whatever that means exactly is anybody’s guess. Third-degree assault charges don’t just appear out of thin air which means the likelihood of them disappearing isn’t great.
Whatever the case Hill has a two-year deal with the Lakers meaning if things go south after this season it will be all too easy for the team to part ways.
