It didn’t take very long for the folks in Philadelphia to begin the questioning of the Andrew Bynum acquisition. Now keep in mind the season hasn’t started so the fine hoops fans in Philly have yet to see Baby Bynum come out and play. Wait until they get a load of him.
For now the early Andrew angst in 76 country is centered on those knee problems that will forever follow Bynum wherever he goes. Already Rod Thorn is deflecting notions that he traded for damaged goods.
Currently Bynum is resting up while his new teammates are busy getting ready for the start of the season. Drew is out of action due to a bone bruise in his left knee after having undergone the same therapy Kobe Bryant did last season.
We all know how that procedure reinvigorated Bryant allowing him to play big minutes while putting up some big numbers. Bynum is coming off a career year in both the statistical and health department. Really there isn’t any reason why Philly fans should be too worried. It stands to reason Bynum will bounce back healthier than ever if his body reacts at all similar to Kobe’s.
But that won’t stop the local media from prodding every time there is a Bynum knee concern raised. But as I said earlier, wait until Baby Bynum comes out to play. The knee issues will be buried beneath the bad press sure to arise the first time Drew is ejected for being a general douche then proceeds to leave his BMW running in a handicapped parking spot.
