The Los Angeles Lakers are truly in disarray. Let’s not pretend like that’s not the case because it most certainly is. This team fired its head coach only five games into the season, botched the re-rehiring of the greatest coach of all-time and until today was pretty much invisible to most of the outside world no thanks to the lucrative deal inked with Time Warner.
Well at least we can cross one of those issues of the list.
DirecTV and Time Warner are reported to be in the final stages of forging a deal that would allow for even more starved Lakers fans access to SportsNet.
In case you’re still not knowing SportsNet is the official name of Time Warner’s channel that has the broadcasting rights to the Lakers. For many fans the Lake Show has been nothing more than a box score or a few highlights at the end of the night as the majority of providers did not carry the network.
With DirecTV in place all eyes now shift towards Dish Network. No word on whether or not there is a deal in the works but you get the feeling that soon enough the Lakers will be accessible to all.
