Lakers Could Have Pau Gasol, Steve Nash Back Before Christmas

Christmas could come early for Mike D’Antoni and the Los Angeles Lakers. The struggles of the Purple and Gold this season are well documented. It’s pretty much the talk of the sports world at this point. But there could be reason to believe things will get better. Both Pau Gasol and Steve Nash are targeting next week to make their returns.

Gasol has already laid out a timetable for the coming week with the date of the 22nd circled for his “probable” return. In Pau’s absence the Lake Show has hit rock bottom losing five of six. Knee tendinitis has kept Gasol out of action with many speculating that there is more than meets the eye to the problems that have plagued Pau’s production.

As for Nash, his return can’t come soon enough. D’Antoni has made no secrets about his desire to get this team back at full strength with Nash running the show. The aging point guard has only played in two games as a Laker neither of which were particularly impressive outings. Nash is looking at Christmas day as his date to be back in uniform but could return as soon as the 22nd which would coincide with Pau’s possible return as well.
