Report: Pau Gasol Could Miss Six To Twelve Weeks

An MRI conducted in Boston confirms Pau Gasol does indeed have a plantar fascia tear in his right foot. He will leave the team tomorrow for Los Angeles in order to begin his trip down the road to recovery.

The team has not released any details on how long the two-time world champion will be out of action but a report on CBS Sports cites a source that details two scenarios for Gasol. In one the Spaniard would rehab his foot which would mean being out of action anywhere from six to eight weeks. In another surgery would be conducted in which case Pau would miss the next 10 to 12 weeks but would also provide a better chance at full recovery.

Either way the forecast isn’t looking goof for Gasol or the Lakers who were just starting to round into form.

Despite the news Gasol seemed upbeat as he Tweeted positive messages to his followers.
