Lakers Fall Behind Utah Jazz For Final Playoff Spot

As we’ve all learned this tumultuous season nothing is guaranteed except disappointment. A team expected to compete for an NBA title is once again battling for the final playoff spot. The Lakers loss in Milwaukee combined with the Jazz winning in Portland puts the Lakers on the outside looking in as Utah leaps into the 8th spot.

Obviously nothing is decided as of yet but keep in mind the Jazz do own the tiebreaker over the Lakers. So that means we’re looking at plenty of tense ball to be played in the coming weeks. It also means the Lakers margin for error is narrowing by the day.

The recent rash of injuries to Metta World Peace, Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant couldn’t have come at a worse time. This team needs all hands on deck right about now. In addition to the Jazz the Dallas Mavericks are also creeping up into playoff contention.
