Bernie Bickerstaff, who went 4-1 as an interim coach for the Lakers last November, and Chuck Persons, one of the defensive minds from the days of Phil Jackson, were told Sunday they would not be retained by LA this coming season.
Seeing as D’Antoni inherited the staff left over from Mike Brown this was to be expected, at least to a certain extent. But it’s not hard to feel like this could be yet another poor move in a long string of questionable decisions from LA’s front office.

The LA Times speculates D’Antoni could target longtime friend and former Suns, Clippers coach Alvin Gentry as an assistant.
Persons could potentially become a prime candidate for the Pistons head coaching position, as their search is currently being guided by Phil Jackson.
