Rockets mulling offering Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik for Dwight Howard

This weekend was a crazy one for Lakers fans. First, reports came out that the Lakers weren’t willing to sign and trade Dwight Howard. One day later, more reports came out the the Clippers were prepared to offer Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe for Howard after July 1st.

Now, Marc Stein reports the newest rumor. This time, the Rockets are considering an offer of Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik for Dwight Howard.

The Lakers and Mitch Kupchak have let it be known that their first interest this summer is to resign Dwight. And while they’ve reportedly shot down the idea of a sign and trade, you have to think that is a leverage ploy to keep Dwight from negotiating with other teams. The ultimate goal is to have the maximum amount of cap room for the 2014 season.

The problem for the Rockets is that, while Lin and Harden will only make $5.25 million each next season, they’re each set to make $14.8 million in the 2014 season.
What do you think Lakers fans? Would you like to see Asik and Lin in purple and gold?
