While the Lakers have been adamant all spring and summer that they are not interested in a sign and trade, that isn’t stopping the Warriors from preparing a package to get Dwight Howard to Golden State.
According to Marcus Thompson, the Warriors have a package centered around center Andrew Bogut and one of their young wingman in Harrison Barnes or Klay Thompson. They also would include the expiring contracts of either Richard Jefferson or Andris Biedrins to give the Lakers maximum salary cap relief.
As has been the case all along, the Lakers don’t want contracts that go through next summer. However, with Barnes and Thompson making just $3.04 and $4.46 million dollars next season, neither would take up much cap space and could be intriguing pieces to help lure free agents to LA next summer.
