While no decision from Dwight Howard has come on what would be thought of as D-Day, the field is thinning. First, the Dallas Mavericks have officially been notified they’re out of the running.

The Mavericks were always seen as a long shot, as were the Hawks.
As for the Warriors, an insane day has them in a unique situation. First, they unloaded Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins, and a 2014 first round pick on the Utah Jazz. Originally thought as a cap clearing process to sign Howard, the Warriors then announced the signing of Andre Iguodala. However, the Warriors aren’t dead in the water. On the contrary, the Warriors are a far more appealing team now with Curry, Iggy, and a host of young talent. But, as has been throughout the whole process, a sign and trade is the only way they’ll be able to obtain the big man.
