It was recently reported that the Lakers were going to amnesty Metta World Peace, but recent tweets by Kobe Bryant have people thinking otherwise.
Personally I'd keep Metta and make a run with the unit we have and just add a few pieces #keepthepeace #lakersstilldeciding

There has been a lot of talk recently about him wanting to go to the Knicks because he was born there, went to St. Johns, and roots for the Knicks at times. Those all seem to be rumors now, at least according to MWP’s father.
Ron Artest Sr., just spoke with Metta and tells @SNYtv his son says he will retire if amnestied by the Lakers. Story coming.
