The Lakers made it official Monday when they introduced Wesley Johnson as the newest member of them. Johnson, a former lottery pick, will be playing in his 4th season in the league this upcoming year.
Johnson has had an underwhelming career for a lottery pick, but still a productive one as a bench player. He has a career 7.7 points per game average while shooting 33.6% from the 3-point line in 23 minutes a game. Last year with the Suns, Johnson averaged 8 points and 2.5 rebounds in just 19.1 minutes an outing. His 36-minute stats of 15.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists lend more to the potential Johnson has.
Many believe Mike D’Antoni’s offense could revitalize Johnson’s career, which has failed to take off. Only time will tell, but the added youthfulness and athleticism is only a good thing for hte Lakers
