According to reports, the Los Angeles Lakers met with Lou Amundson. The 6’9 forward also met with the Clippers, and the meetings went “positively”. Amundson has been a journey-man throughout his career so far; in his seven year career, he has played for eight teams, while averaging no higher then 15 minutes a game for a single season.
The thirty-year-old’s career averages are 3.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, while also shooting 49 percent from the floor. These averages may seem really low, but remember, he doesn’t get very many minutes. Last season, when he was with the Hornets, his per 36 minutes averages were 7.6 points, 10 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1 block, and 1.6 steals.
Although Amundson isn’t the younger player that the Lakers seem to being signing this off-season, he will bring front-court depth. He may not be a threat on the offensive side of the ball, but he brings good defense and rebounding — just what this Lakers roster needs.
