Mamba in the Morning: Ranking uniforms, Steph Marbury talks NBA

LAKERS NEWS

Despite not making any roster moves in the recent days, the Lakers have been all over the news. First, ESPN ranked NBA uniforms, in which the Lakers came in 2nd, behind the Boston Celtics (that’s an all too familiar feeling). Here’s what they had to say about the Lakers jerseys…

"Ideally, a uniform should be viewed in a vacuum, strictly on the basis of its aesthetics. But every now and then there’ll be a team that’s so consistently successful on the field (or the court, or the ice) that it creates an aura of quality about the entire franchise, an aura that can extend to the team’s uniforms. The Lakers fall into that category. Are their uniforms really so good, or do they just seem that way? Either way, they’ve achieved that rarefied status reserved for upper-echelon designs. The only fly in the ointment is the white alternate uni. Come on, guys, you used to be special because you were the only team in the league without a white uni."

I’m happy and all being 2nd place, but dogging the white jerseys? Those are the best jerseys. It’s what makes Sunday games so unique. It’s the only time you see the white alternates.

Elsewhere, in “He’s Still Relevant?!?!?” news, Stephon Marbury said Kobe Bryant was still the best player in the league. Even Lakers fans have to find that one a bit out of whack.

If you didn’t see the news yesterday, Kobe Bryant posted a video to his Instagram account showing him running on a zero-gravity treadmill. This is just further proof this man is not human.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Nuggets guard Ty Lawson, generally regarded as one of the nicer guys in the league, was arrested Monday on domestic violence charges.

DID YOU KNOW?

Kobe Bryant is the only player in NBA history with 4 consecutive 50-point games.
