The team at Lake Show Life unveiled our list of the Lakers Top Ten All-Time Players last week and when we were done tallying up the votes, it was Magic Johnson that topped the list. It was close, but the consensus of the group had Magic edging out Kobe Bryant.
I am all for the democratic process as it is what this great nation of ours was founded on, except when it results in something so deeply rooted in wrongness. It’s times like this where I can understand tyranny.
I was one of those that had Kobe Bryant as the greatest Laker of all-time and placed Magic 2nd. While it was just one spot behind Kobe, the distance of the two is significantly greater than the proximity of their rankings would suggest.
As my form of protest of our Lakers All-Time Top Ten list, I am providing my 5 reasons why Bryant, not Magic, Jerry West or Kareem, is the greatest Lakers of All-Time and it’s not even close.
