Antawn Jamison was expected to play a key role off the bench last year for the Lakers. Due to injuries, he played a much larger than expected role, averaging 21.5 minutes a game. Despite that, the Lakers decided pretty early on that they had no interest in bringing the veteran forward back, considering his glaring weaknesses defensively. The Clippers, however, continued poaching former Lakers talent, signing Jamison to the veteran’s minimum for one year.
Lamar Odom news continue to get sadder and sadder. After the update Sunday that Odom had been missing for 72 hours, Odom was reportedly found by friends in a LA hotel room, but still struggling with drug use. The Lakers have officially pulled out of the Odom chase, according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News. This doesn’t appear to be as a result of the recent news, as they had decided weeks ago that Odom was not for them.
When Kobe Bryant made his NBA debut in 1997, most of the NBA rookies weren’t old enough to remember it. Nevertheless, at the annual NBA rookie photo shoot this summer, the rookies voted Bryant as their favorite current player. Bryant took 21.2% of the vote, with LeBron James getting 15.2%.

Tracy McGrady announced his retirement from the NBA while appearing on ESPN First Take yesterday. McGrady is seen as a sure-fire Hall of Famer.
