The Lakers made presumably their final preseason cut following their final preseason game Friday night. Summer league standout Marcus Landry was released, bringing the roster total to 15.
Landry was certainly given his chances this preseason. However, an abysmal shooting performance sealed his fate. Landry, who has spent the last couple of seasons in the D-League, will have a chance to do so again. That being said, he is 27 and running out of chances to play in the league.
Billed as a one-trick pony, Landry won the D-League’s three point contest last season. He showed an ability to get to the rim this summer during summer league play, but didn’t translate it to the big leagues during the preseason.
