Luke Walton hired as LA D-Fenders player development coach
By Jacob Rude
Despite not officially retiring, Luke Walton has still begun life after basketball. He’s joined the Time Warner Cable staff on a part-time basis covering the Lakers. Now he’s joining the Lakers D-League team on a full-time basis.
Walton was drafted by the Lakers in 2003 and spent his first eight and half years as a member of the purple and gold. Possibly most well-known for the horrid contract Mitch Kupchak and company gave him, Walton still was something of a fan favorite. After spending the final year and a half of his contract with the Cavs, Walton retired this summer, leading up to his newest jobs.
