Lakers still interested in Lamar Odom?
By Jacob Rude
It’s been a long, treacherous road for Lamar Odom since his departure from the Lakers. After a turmoil-filled season in Dallas, Odom had a mini-revitalization in Los Angeles for the Clippers last year prior to his free agency.
This summer, things took a dramatic turn for the worse when his drug problem was revealed, which led to a personal spiral for Odom. Despite early interest in Odom to start the summer, both the Lakers and Clippers backed away as more and more news and information came out about Odom’s personal life. Add in some legal problems after a dust-up with the paparazzi, and Odom’s NBA chances looked dim.
However, Odom has refocused and begun training for a second-half comeback to the NBA this season. Both the Lakers and Clippers took notice. From ESPN
"Sources told ESPN.com that the Clippers and Lakers — who both registered interest in signing Odom this past summer until his private life became a near-daily subject for the tabloid media — will have renewed interest in the 33-year-old if he indeed makes a comeback this season."
The Lakers certainly could use a player like Odom, who would perfectly fill their stretch four role they haven’t found an answer for since Mike D’Antoni took over. Still, Odom has a long way to go before offers become more serious, as he has to prove his personal battles are behind him for good.
Would you want the Lakers to bring back Odom?
