We heard yesterday that there may be talks of a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. Similarly, the Lakers are also looking at another player to add to the roster.

The Lakers apparently have interest in Turkish big man Hedo Turkoglu. Turkoglu has not played a game for the Magic this year, and the two sides are expected to agree to a buyout within the coming days. After clearing waivers, the Lakers are expected to make a big push for the point forward.

With the team in need of a playmaker sans Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, Turkoglu could step in and play a significant role. Fewer offensive systems fit better to the Turkish big mans skill set than Mike D’Antoni’s would, as he would serve as the perfect stretch four. However, Turkoglu played in just 11 games last year and hasn’t touched the court this season, giving reasonable cause for concern regarding whether he can still produce at a high level.
