The hits keep on coming as Pau Gasol is the latest Laker to get the injury bug. Noticeably hampered by an injury the last handful of games, Gasol went in for an MRI Saturday afternoon which revealed a strained groin.
Gasol will be out for at least a week, which sees the Lakers take a mini road trip through Minnesota, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. The team is a just a half game away from having the conference’s worst record. Currently, they have the sixth worst record in the league and 2-12 over their last 14 games.
Gasol has been arguably the Lakers best player this season, leading the team in points (17.0), rebounds (10.2), and blocks (1.5) while 46.9% from the field and has been the Lakers best offensive weapon this season. His absence will like mean increased playing time for Chris Kaman, who has fallen out of the rotation even with all the injury woes the Lakers have struggled with.
