When Pau Gasol exited Sunday night’s contest against the Orlando Magic with an undisclosed injury, it was met with jokes of “tanking” on Twitter and social media. A few short hours after the game, those jokes were quickly taken back as Gasol will be spending the night in the hospital after receiving three liters of IV solution.
Gasol went into the locker room at halftime and didn’t return to the game. The team said he was suffering from nausea and dizziness. With little details about the injury, it’s hard to speculate what exactly the problem might be. Dehydration or food poisoning could be likely candidates, but it’s tough to speculate on such an injury.
As of now, Gasol’s status for Tuesday’s contest is officially questionable, according to Mike D’Antoni.
