While the downside of the NCAA tournament this year was the amount of high-profile prospects being dumped in the first weekend, the upside is shorter wait time on their decision to stay in college or declare for the NBA Draft. According to Yahoo, Kansas big man Joel Embiid will in fact enter the draft.

Embiid joins Noah Vonleh as high profile prospects to join the draft already this spring. While Vonleh was a mid-lottery pick, Embiid is a top three pick at worst and very possibly the number one overall pick in June’s draft.

Embiid exudes the thing scouts love most: potential. His height (7’0), wingspan (7’5), and his age (20) all are on the plus side. NBADraft.net compares him to Tim Duncan and Hakeem Olajuwon, some lofty expectations. Stay connected to Lake Show Life for future draft profiles and all the draft prospect declaration news.
