While he isn’t the highest profile player to declare for the draft from Duke, Rodney Hood is expected to enter the draft himself. Hood, a red-shirt sophomore, transferred to Duke last year from Mississippi State.

Hood will join a star-studded draft class, which now lacks only teammate Jabari Parker among the list of highest touted prospects. Hood spent one season at Duke where he averaged 16.1 points on 46.4% field goal shooting and 42% from three. The lefty shooter sky-rocketed his draft stock with some huge performances and consistent shooting. With the ability to shoot from three and get to the rim as well, scouts took notice.

Hood is expected to be a late lottery pick by most accounts. If the Lakers fall all the way to the 9th pick, Hood could be a realistic option. To get some more information on Hood, check out our draft profile on Hood and stay on the lookout for more coverage on the draft in the upcoming months.
