Overall, all three prospects are great lottery choices. Combine results can vary. They often have players moving up and down the mock draft like company stock. Still, Randle, Gordon, and Vonleh are all great NBA prospects. The Lakers would be fortunate to have any of them available at their pick. They may become franchise players. They may become All-Stars. What is key here is, which player is going to be the most effective against the rest of the league. Aaron Gordon fits the mold of the modern power forward; able to fly down in transition, defend the perimeter well, and have developing three-point range. Julius Randle is more of a classic power forward; bruising players in the paint while adding some finesse from the high-post. Noah Vonleh is a player who plays the position like a center, only with three-point range. This adds versatility to his game. That versatility along with his 3-point shooting ability and elite physical tools may make him a franchise player as well.
It’s a tough decision for the Lakers overall. We just want to see the right one chosen.
