The Case for Noah Vonleh

What if he doesn’t reach his potential?

Two players come to mind in terms of player comparisons, if Noah Vonleh doesn’t reach his potential.  One player is Channing Frye, who has great 3-point consistency at of the power forward position.  Like Vonleh, he tried to develop his post up skill at the University of Arizona, only to forego those skills and stick to perimeter shooting. Frye isn’t the rebounder that Vonleh is, and he comes in to provide floor spacing in half-court sets. P.J. Brown also comes to mind.  P.J. never really had a strong post game, but was an excellent man-defender in the post, and developed good consistency from 18′ throughout his career.  His solidarity helped get the Celtics a championship in 2009 coming off the bench.  He too, was a solid rebounder, but never rebounded at the rate or skill as Noah Vonleh.
