Rarely are we blessed with a more competitive, balanced, and exciting of a NBA Finals as we were last year between the Heat and Spurs. Getting the opportunity to do it all again? Unheard of. But basketball fans around the world have been blessed with the opportunity to witness the NBA’s best player take on the NBA’s best team (record-wise, that is).
We know how close the series was last season. The Spurs had the trophies in their hands, only to have Ray Allen save Miami’s life and eventually force a Game 7. The decisive game once again saw the Spurs come agonizingly close, this time Tim Duncan missing a bunny in the closing minutes of the game, allowing the Heat to hang on and win their second consecutive title.
To call this year’s predictions a toss-up would be an understatement. Editors from all around the NBA’s FanSided section got together and offered their own predictions, and they were just as split as the rest of America.
Final tally (excluding Spurs in 3) – Spurs 11, Heat 9.
Strap up. This one will be fun.
