Lakers Rumors: Rockets, Mavs to pursue Jordan Hill

One of the most energetic big men in the league, Jordan Hill will likely have many suitors this summer. Hill is entering free agency after a career year and is in line for a pay raise, and teams appear willing to pay him.

Last season, Hill started the most games of his career and put up his career high in points (9.7), rebounds (7.4), field goal shooting (54.9%), and minutes (20.8). Mainly used as a spark off the bench, Hill’s averages jumped to 13.0 points and 8.9 rebounds as a starter, but the Arizona product struggled to remain consistent.

With the Lakers focused on hitting a homerun with LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, players like Hill and even Pau Gasol have been pushed to the back burner for the time being. Hill stated he was open to returning to the Lakers in his exit interview, but that may have been just a formality.

While the Lakers were the team Hill was given his first real chance, he butted heads with D’Antoni last season and may have a sour taste in his mouth for the foreseeable future. But there are few, if any, players with Hill’s skill set, making him all the more valuable.

Let us know below if you think Hill will be in purple and gold next season!
