Multiple discussions have gone on all day. Mike Dunleavy Jr. was mentioned earlier, but it seems he’s staying in Chicago. Looks like Pau Gasol may be playing beside him.
With a three-way trade, it’s obvious the Lakers are staying flexible for the future. They have signed the players that they wanted to sign. Getting no players back means Nick Young can officially sign as a Laker. Pau Gasol goes to his team of choice, the Chicago Bulls. Everybody wins.
This may not be as rough of an off-season as last summer, but while the team is looking to fill out the roster, it is being built for the playoffs in 2015 and later, not 2014.
Multiple 1st or 2nd round picks guarantee cap flexibility and a youth movement within the roster.
Rebuilding through the draft is what the Lakers have needed for years.
