The Lakers lacked depth at the center position. Â It looks like they have a starting center. Â His name is Ed Davis.

Ed Davis is a good contributor. Â He is the opposite of Sacre, which allows the Lakers to adjust to the game as necessary. Robert Sacre plays better in a half court set with power. Â Ed Davis likes to get out in transition and swat shots. Â They are complementary players.
It’s also possible for Ed Davis to play some power forward.  Last year he averaged nearly 6 points and 4 rebounds in just 15 minutes per game.  He is nimble around the paint and likes to finish with a soft touch.
It also happens to fit within the Lakers’ plans for 2016.
