We all know the story at this point about the underwhelming and disappointing tenure of Steve Nash in LA. Nash’s injuries have forced him off the court and made him one of Lakers fans biggest targets.
However, after announcing this upcoming season will be his final one, Nash appears revitalized and refocused, even working out today with Oklahoma City Thunder teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
Durant also posted the picture on the left to his Instagram. Westbrook is a California native and Durant has been on the West Coast (namely Las Vegas) for USA Basketball training camp. Based on the pictures, though, the trio worked out at the Lakers practice facility.
Seeing Nash working out with the likes of Durant and Westbrook is an encouraging sign. Considering this time last year, the stories were all about Nash rehabbing and not about him working out with fellow NBA stars, that certainly speaks volumes about his current health status.
However, off-season workouts and in-season games are obviously two different levels. We still don’t know the extent in which Nash can perform and likely won’t until the preseason at the earliest. However, maybe fortunately for Nash, the expectation of his output from fans is incredibly low based on the last two seasons.
Let us know what you think about Nash this season? Will he start? Will he play? How many games? What will he average?
