Jeremy Lin Doing More Off-Season Training (video)
By Mike Garcia
Byron Scott promised a team that plays defense and works hard every night. Jeremy Lin is tailoring his training to that idea. Just a few weeks back, he was out at Dallas Mo Training Camp working on footwork and speed.
On Jeremy Lin’s Instagram account, he explained what his offseason training was all about.
"This offseason I have been working really hard on my defense, footwork, and explosiveness. A huge component that I needed to work on is my core stability (having good posture, being able to stay low in my defensive stance, and being able to stay balanced while absorbing contact). Only 19 days left till training camp…can’t wait to get back on the court! #LakersNation #PurpleandGold"
One can’t help but think that Jeremy Lin has a tremendous work ethic. It isn’t always about playing 5-on-5 on the basketball court, but working on physical skills individually to become a better player. Jeremy Lin has shown tremendous ability to attack the basket and have a great conversion rate at the hoop. Last year, 28.7% of his field goal attempts were within 3′. However, he was able to convert at that distance with a career high 63.7%. Imagine that ability being magnified with better athleticism and improved ability to finish through contact. Coach Byron Scott is going to love that he’s working on his footwork and defensive ability as well.
Laker fans can’t wait to see what he looks like on the floor. Training camp is just a few weeks away.
