The USA basketball program is certainly riding high. After sending their “B” team (or possibly even considered the “C” team) to Spain for the FIBA World Cup, the Americans breezed through the competition, including a romp in the gold medal game against Serbia.
Now, with the Rio Olympics in 2016 the next target date, Jerry Colangelo and Mike Krzyzewski have a host of players to choose from. Stars like LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Kevin Durant may sit out. Considering Paul George‘s injury this summer, there may rules in place to not allow them to play.
For now, we’ll assume no such rules are in place. For the sake of argument, we’ll also assume no one sits out. This certainly won’t be the case, but predicting which players will sit out is a pointless and inaccurate exercise.
With everyone available, USA could potentially field their best line-up ever. Let’s take a look.
