Among those playing in a 5-on-5 scrimmage right now at the practice facility: Swaggy P, Sacre, Johnson, Kelly, Davis, Randle and Clarkson.

In the video, we finally get to see Julius Randle hit a shot from midrange.  He looked very comfortable taking the shot, even if he faded slightly.  It’s a very positive sign.
Ryan Kelly attacked the basket going baseline, but it looks like Robert Sacre was waiting for him and blocked him at the rim.
Daddy Swag nailed a 3-point shot.  He’ll be getting plenty of those looks.
On a more positive note, it looks like training camp started a bit early for the coaching staff. Â Mike Trudell posted this tweet once the coaching staff was announced.

Last year, the Laker team had great chemistry on and off-the-floor. Â Most of the talk was based around the actual play of the Lakers, rather than locker room drama. Â The unit is getting familiarized with each other every time they scrimmage on the floor. The coaching staff is getting organized for a very serious training camp.
Look for the Lakers to get off to a good start as a unit. Â The schedule is tough early on, but something tells me the team will gel together more quickly than the rest of the league. Â Byron Scott has to be happy. Â This is what building a championship mentality is all about.
