While some Lakers choose to work out individually (namely Kobe Bryant), many others Lakers have been taking part in scrimmages and workouts at the Lakers facility. As the opening of training camp closes in, many Lakers are ramping up their workouts, including 5-on-5 scrimmages at the practice facility.
The two most prominently featured players in that Vine posted are Robert Sacre and Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson is the rookie who surprised fans at the Las Vegas Summer League with his production.
Lakers.com writer Mike Trudell tweeted earlier in the day about some of the 5-on-5 practices and more information on the participants
"Among those playing in a 5-on-5 scrimmage right now at the practice facility: Swaggy P, Sacre, Johnson, Kelly, Davis, Randle and Clarkson.Nash has also been in often, though not today. Lots of folks offering up how healthy/good he looks. (We’ll see how it translates to camp)– Mike Trudell"
The most intriguing thing tweeted is obviously about Nash’s health. Entering the final year of his career, Nash has been less than a shell of his former self in the final two seasons, often being injured too often to play significant minutes.
Now, with the pressure entirely off the Lakers and the expectations of him at an all-time low, it’s hard to see him failing with the Lakers, with the worst case scenario his big contract being dead weight to move at the trade deadline.
